The Home... The Classroom for Teaching and Learning the Scriptures
The home has always been the place for Scripture teaching and learning... from Adam to Abraham... from Abraham to David... from David to Yeshua... and from Yeshua to the present day the home has been the center for learning about Yahweh. Daily we are to talk about the Scriptures with our children. Daily we are to walk with Yahweh and talk to Him. The Sabbath observance always begins and ends at the home. Jews to this day continue this practice and we (a branch who has been grafted in the main trunk) should continue the practice also. Read the Scriptures and you will find that the Scriptures are full of references to worship in the home. It is a believer's daily walk.
The home is were the learning about Yahweh and Yeshua starts. This is the major reason why our country, and the world for that matter, is so wicked and so far from Yahweh. Fathers and mothers do not know the Scriptures and, therefore, are unable to train their children in the way they should go so that when they grow old they should not depart from it. Fathers and mothers do not pray with their children and they do not tell their children bible stories. When the children grow old they know nothing about the Scriptures or Yahweh. The children also grow to become parents and the cycle repeats.
Do not let others tell you that the "church" is where you get your learning from and that your pastor is the only "trained and qualified" person to teach you. You are a priest before Yahweh. Yeshua gives you that authority. Most pastors stand in their pulpits weekly and preach to you that you should study and learn about the Scriptures at home and to put into practice what you learn from the Holy Spirit. If the pastors are honest in their preaching they will want you to practice what you learn, even if it goes against their preaching. If you share in the meeting something that you learned, they should be willing to listen to you and search the Scriptures themselves to see if it is so and be willing to change if needed.
Yahweh commands us in Deuteronomy (search the Scriptures) to constantly talk about and think about Him and His Words. We believe that parents should return to the "Old Pathway." Parents should lead at home and celebrate the Sabbath (Remember the Seventh Day to keep it Holy) with a meal, prayers and Bible study. They should also sing praises to Yahweh and Yeshua to bring joy to their lives and to their homes. Then on the Seventh Day believers should meet to study the Scriptures, to pray, to sing praises and to have a common meal in remembrance of Yeshua to commemorate the Death and Resurrection of the Messiah, the Lamb of Yahweh. The Sabbath (Sabbath means Seventh Day) ends at sunset and the First Day begins then. The early believers met on the First Day also and this could have continued from the Sabbath meeting. Acts 20:7-12 gives an account when Paul preached until midnight and a young man fell from a window. This could have easily happened if they were meeting right after the end (sunset) of the Sabbath, which is the beginning of the First Day.
Let us return to Home worship and our meetings with fellow believers will be more joyful, more pleasant, and more uplifting. We will look forward to those meetings because we will meet to worship Yahweh and Yeshua and not to learn our weekly portion of wisdom from someone else. The Holy Spirit will be our Teacher during the week!
Home is where the family meets and learns. The family is the center of civilization. Therefore, as the home goes so goes the nation.
